I specialise in Latin and Classical Civilisation for Common Entrance and scholarship papers, mainly for pupils applying to traditional boarding schools. After several years teaching in a small prep school, I moved into full-time tutoring and now work with families across the UK and overseas. I enjoy helping pupils make sense of grammar tables and unseen translations, and I always link the language to myths, history and the culture behind the texts.

I’m a science-loving 11+ and Common Entrance tutor based just outside Bristol. Day-to-day I teach KS2 and early KS3 biology, chemistry and physics, then in the evenings I work one-to-one with pupils aiming for independent schools. We spend a lot of time on practical examples, quick quizzes and interpreting the sort of diagrams that put some pupils off. I’m happy working with either confident high flyers or children who need a slower pace.

I’m Emma, an English and creative writing tutor working with pupils preparing for 10+, 11+ and 13+ entrance tests. A lot of my students like reading but struggle to turn ideas into clear exam answers, so we practise building paragraphs, planning stories and editing under timed conditions. I’m friendly but quite exacting about spelling and punctuation. Most of my work is online with pupils in London, Surrey and sometimes further afield.

For the past eight years I’ve specialised in 11+ and 13+ maths, non-verbal and verbal reasoning for GL and CEM style exams. I started out in a state secondary before moving into tutoring, and I now support pupils applying to grammar and independent schools in Kent, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. Sessions usually mix targeted skills practice with short timed sections so pupils learn how the real papers feel from an early stage.

I’m a Year 6 teacher in a busy primary school and tutor Common Entrance and 11+ in the evenings. Because I still teach full classes, I’m very used to spotting gaps from classroom assessments and building these into one-to-one sessions.
